This year’s General Assembly has been planned with view to the preparation of the festive event to celebrate the 10 years anniversary of the signature of the NEREUS Political Charter: along with the elections of the Management Board and renewal of political mandates, several side events have been planned in order to share experience, network and strengthen the NEREUS community.
On the 18th of May, an interactive brainstorming session will take place: NEREUS members are invited to share their views and ideas in order to take stock of past activities and build consensus on the network’s future. The participants will have their say on three topics: (1) Political Dialogue (2) Network Strategy / Development (3) Communication and Public Outreach (Promotion of Space Uses), and the content will then be brought into the discussion at Board level. Special thanks go to Christian Bruns (Bremen), Marion Boulard (Brittany), John Lewis (Hesse), Emmeline Allioux (PACA), Francisco Macedo (Azores) and Ilaria d’Auria (NEREUS Secretariat) for their efforts in preparing and chairing the groups.
That same night, a networking cocktail will be offered by NEREUS at the Polish Embassy: an opportunity to welcome the new Polish member Region: Podkarpackie and to mingle with old and new members. We wish to thank Mazovia Region for its mediation.
On the 19th of May, the General Assembly will take place at the Committee of the Regions. Before discussing statutory affairs, an inspirational speech will be given by Amanda Regan – a renown TEDx talker, ESA seconded expert now at the European Commission.
NEREUS Members will then have the opportunity to vote for the Board and renewal of the Political Mandates of those in charge of steering the future strategy of the network for the next two years.
We hope that the planned activities will be of your interest and look forward to welcoming you in Brussels for a lively exchange!
