On the 6th and 7th of June 2018, shortly after the publication of the European Commission’s proposal for the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework, the European Commission unveiled a set of regulations proposals on space and on research (Horizon Europe).
The proposed “Regulation establishing the space programme of the Union and the European Union Agency for the Space Programme” gathers into a single text the existing EGNSS Regulation, Copernicus Regulation and GSA Regulation as well as SST Decision, considered as “components” of the EU space Programme.
The proposed 16Bn budget (in current prices) is distributed as follows (article 11):
- EGNOS/ Galileo: 9,7Bn€
- Copernicus: 5,8Bn€
- GOVSATCOM/SST: 0.5Bn€
References to regional dimension of public uses will be closely analyzed by NEREUS and a preliminary analysis will be shared with the members.
