Save the date: Green Ways – an essential for sustainable tourism on September 28, 2022 at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels


In relation to the Podkarpackie Region’s (link) implementation of the project entitled “Preservation and Promotion of Natural and Cultural Heritage through Green Ways” (OUR WAY) co-funded by the Interreg Europe Program 2014-2020, on behalf of the organizers – the Region of Murcia from Spain organises the final conference of the project entitled “Green Ways – an essential for sustainable tourism”, which will be held on September 28, 2022 at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels.

During the conference, the European Tourism Agenda and the First Tourism Development Path will be presented, and partners from all project regions, together with stakeholders and political authorities involved in the management, financing and promotion of greenways across Europe, will discuss the role of greenways as a cross-cutting element in local development and tourism.#

 

The main objective of the OUR WAY project, which has been implemented since 2018 and involves 8 different partners from across Europe, is to contribute to the preservation, protection, promotion and development of natural and cultural heritage across Europe through the use of Greenways. To this end, the project partners have developed action plans to improve public policies related to the cultural and natural quality of the territories involved, including tools for their management and the development of specific actions for their promotion and preservation.

 

Among the speakers will be esteemed experts in the field of sustainable tourism, representatives of the European Commission and public authorities, including Mr. Władysław Ortyl – Marshal of the Podkarpackie Region/Member of the Committee of the Regions and NEREUS Vice-President.
