The 6th Space Resources Conference was held on 15 and 16 May 2023 at AGH University in Kraków (NEREUS Associate member), Poland under the patronage of Marshal of the Malopolska region (NEREUS Full member), Witold Klozlowski. The conference provided an open forum for discussion on the state-of-the-art technologies applicable to current challenges in the region and research results of space exploration and the use of space resources to improve the living conditions of humans and protect Earth’s natural environment.
Professor Tadeusz Uhl, the Head of Mechanics and Robotics Department opened the conference by highlighting the significant role of the university in space research. He then welcomed Vice-Rector for Cooperation of AGH UST, Prof. Rafał Wiśniowski – and the Secretary of the Małopolska Voivodeship – Mr Wojciech Piech to deliver the opening speech. Students and professors had also the chance to discuss with reserved astronaut, Sławosz Uznański the challenges and opportunities of pursuing a space-based career.
On behalf of NEREUS, Ms Margarita Chrysaki, NEREUS Communication and Project officer, highlighted the growing academia/education community of the Network and the numerous opportunities to expand their activities at the regional and European levels through the Network.
