Co-organised with ESA Space Solutions, the session is a follow-up to the 3rd edition European Symposium by NEREUS Regions: Space data for water & energy on 2-3 October 2024. Energy plays a critical role in advancing the local Green Deal agenda, particularly in driving green and climate transitions. The increasing regional impacts of climate change heighten challenges in energy management, requiring local authorities to explore innovative solutions to ensure sustainable practices and resilience.
In this respect, Mina Syriou, ESA’s Energy BASS Lead, will present and address questions regarding 3 upcoming funding opportunities focused on energy and space-based solutions. She will also showcase ESA’s vision to integrate space technology as a pivotal tool in tackling the climate crisis and advancing a sustainable, green future.
