Open Registrations for the EO-SAT UNIBAS Master, deadline 2nd December


Places are still available for the First Level Master’s Degree in Earth Observations from Space: Advanced Technologies and Applications (EO-SAT) , promoted by the University of Basilicata.

 

Funded by the MUR with Prime Ministerial Decree of 26 September 2023 using the funds referred to in art. art. 14-bis of the Legislative Decree of 6 November 2021, n.152, CUP C38J23000300001 – within the Territorial Pact for Higher Education for Businesses, it will start in January 2025.

 

The Master, the first of its kind in Europe, is organized by the University of Basilicata in collaboration with other Italian and foreign universities. Aimed primarily at young graduates in STEM disciplines, it offers a highly specialized training path with the aim of training new professional figures, in collaboration with the companies of the Lucanian Aerospace Cluster and the TeRN Technology District, who will be able to find employment in companies operating in the aerospace and ICT sectors and in public administrations and who will be able to contribute to the development of the entire OT supply chain: from the design and implementation of remote sensing platforms and tools to the analysis and interpretation of remote sensing data for the development of advanced applications and services.

 

In summary

20 places available for the 2025 edition;

1500 hours of training (lectures, internships and individual study);

20 scholarships of €5000.00 each;

 

Two annual editions are planned:

  • the first (2025) dedicated to providing solid theoretical foundations;
  • the second (2026) more focused on applications with longer periods of internship in companies in the sector.

 

Prof. Valerio Tramutoli, coordinator of the Master and president of CTS CLAS, underlined the importance of the path: “The objective is to train specialists in monitoring and analyzing satellite data, with applications in strategic sectors such as environment, agriculture and prevention of natural risks. It is a unique opportunity to contribute to the competitiveness of the Lucanian aerospace sector”.
